Outside of the amazing rice terraces, adventure activities, famous temples and Monkey Forest, Ubud is home to some of the best restaurants in all of Bali!

When you first start looking into all that Ubud has to offer, you will quickly find that it is home to some of the BEST restaurants in Bali. Seeing that Ubud is such a popular tourist destination because of it’s amazing Balinese culture, beautiful rice fields, exciting adventure activities and being one of the hotspots for expats to live, it makes sense why this town would have TOP NOTCH restaurants. You will find two of Indonesia’s most-award-winning restaurants here in Ubud.

UBUD’S BEST RESTAURANTS

1. L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina Ubud – Amazing Italian Pizza

If you are in Ubud and in search of some of the best Pizza or Pasta, you will have to check out L’Osteria Pizza e Cucina. It is one of my favorite place to grab a pie and glass of wine while working or spending time with friends. As someone who is originally from New York and who makes it a priority to try pizza in every country, I can honestly say the pizza at L’Osteria is worth trying. The staff are amazing, the food is superb and the location is right in the heart of Ubud. I highly recommend booking a reservation if you are planning on going here for dinner because they most likely will have a line.

2. Suka Espresso [Ubud] – Best Western Breakfast

Along with being an avid Pizza lover, I am also a lover of amazing Western breakfast spots. Suka Espresso is one of those places that you will go to again and again while you are visiting Ubud and never get tired of it. This is by far one of the best places for breakfast and brunch you will find in Ubud. The food is absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is great for solo travelers, groups or even for digital nomads who are looking for a spot with great food and drink options and excellent wifi speeds. Definitely try one of the salad bowls and the berry pancakes. You will be pleasantly shocked!

3. Layana Warung – Authentic Indonesian Food (Hidden Gem)

Have you ever run across those places that are so great that makes you not want to share it with anyone but at the same time you want to share it with everyone? Well, Layana Warung is that place for me! This hidden gem in Ubud is a little paradise in its own right. Not only will you find amazing Authentic Indonesian food here, but you will probably have the best lunch and/or dinner views in all of Ubud. The location of this Warung (Local Indonesian Restaurant) is extremely hidden and deceiving once you find it. As you walk into the top floor of this restaurant, you will feel like you are in some hole-in-the-wall place, but as you begin to descend the stairs to the bottom floor, you will be in awe of what you see. This is definitely a MUST while visiting Ubud, Bali. Local prices, local food, killer views!

4. Pison, Ubud – Nice Rice-field View in the City

Pison Ubud is a great cafe to go to for breakfast and brunch. It is located in the center of Ubud right next to the popular Monkey Forest. If you are looking for an amazing place for food with friends, while enjoying a nice ambience with beautiful views in Ubud, this is your spot. Although you are in the center of Ubud, the rice-field view and the design of this place makes you feel like you are further away in a smaller town. High-speed wifi for those of you needing a solid place to work from.

5. Soul Bites – American Style Burgers

Okay okay, I get it! Why would you come to Bali, Indonesia and order a burger? Well, if you travel for longterm like I do and you miss an AUTHENTIC American-Style Hamburger, then you will understand why this is on the list. I would compare the quality of this burger similar to a SmashBurger, Five Guys or Shake Shack Burger. Definitely get the Cheese Fondu Burger option with fries and extra sauce! This is my go to place when I am missing The States!

6. La Baracca Bali (Ubud) – Delicious Italian Restaurant

La Baracca is an amazing Italian restaurant with some of the best pizza and pasta I’ve had in Bali. There are a few locations around Bali that you can choose from. The owner is from Italy and is a very welcoming owner. I spent some time in Italy right before coming to Bali, and I can say that I was extremely impressed with the quality of the food here.

7. Lazy Cats Cafe – Vegetarian Restaurant (My FAVORITE Cafe)

By far one of my favorite cafes is Lazy Cats. From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. Whether you are looking to grab a coffee with a friend, have a nice vegetarian/vegan meal, or spend hours like I do working away, this is the perfect cafe. Wifi is great, food is amazing and staff are even better! I practically live at this cafe, so you might bump into me here. Be sure to say hi!

8. Taco Casa Ubud – Mexican Restaurant (Yes it is solid!)

For those of you who still like to eat food from other cultures while traveling, this place is right for you (if you love Mexican food as much as I do). I am from Arizona, right along the border o Mexico, and I can say this is a GREAT Mexican place. The meats are seasoned very well, the tacos are a hit, and the margaritas are delicious! Taco Casa is located right next to a few of the other restaurants on this list.

9. Casa Curandera Bali – Vegan Restaurant: Italian + Colombian Fusion

This hidden gem is tucked in a neighborhood close to the center of Ubud. This is one of those places you stumble upon as you get lost in a city and want to keep to yourself. The staff are great and the food is a mix of Colombian and Italian. They have amazing Vegan options (even if you are not Vegan you will thoroughly enjoy this place). Nice ambience with floor seating makes for a perfect location to meet with friends.

10. Cafe Vespa – Variety of Options (Meat, Veggie, and Vegan)

I typically try to avoid places that have multiple different options of foods and variety of cuisines, but Cafe Vespa is that exception for me. Whether you are craving pizza, Indian food, breakfast options or so much more, Cafe Vespa will impress you. They are constantly changing their menu which makes things fresh and exciting. Enjoy!
